Our Equipment & Software?

We use the broadcast, industry standard Professional Sony Z1 camcorder as used by many documentary camermen to Hollywood blockbuster film makers, the latest version of Avid Media Composer, Sennheiser wireless microphone systems, Flycam stabilising equipment and rode microphone systems.  We offer our services to film and produce a video on dvd of your occasion, project or event for either personal or professional use.

The Sony Z1 is the camera of choice by many top end cameramen as the quality of the footage and reliability of the camera is second to none.  Avid Media Composer is a world renowned software package used by major production companies.  Avid software is the dominant player in the film and television industry.  It is used to edit 85% of all feature films and 95% of all prime time television shows.

Both the Professional Sony Z1 and Avid Media Composer are used by companies from the 'BBC' to the makers of 'Star Trek' to Hollywood blockbusters like Avatar. This shows that you can rely on the quality of our service and products.

Our Services?

From start to finish, we provide a professional filming service using television broadcast and cinema standard equipment and software as offered by companies  from London to the US.  The software we use is the same software used for edits in many of the day to day programmes we all watch like, 'How to Look Good Naked', 'Points of View', 'Real Rooms', 'Countryfile', 'Fifth Gear', 'The Gadget Show', '10 Years Younger' and many more.  The blockbuster AVATAR was created using Avid Media Composer.  Avid software is the dominant player in the film and television industry.  It is used to edit 85% of all feature films and 95% of all prime time television shows.

We will film your event and capture the essence of the day.  We then take the footage away and can keep it as real as you need, or edit it with special effects creating a very different look and feel.

We provide a filming service at an affordable price for any sort of event or occasion, for promotional work, heritage, music videos and more.  We also sell film productions relating to the rural way of life.

The films we sell can be anything from gundog training, game and poultry rearing, rabbit and guinea pig care, game shooting, clay shooting, pigeon racing, Aberdeen Angus breeding and more. 

Who Uses The Rural Film Company?

Anyone can use our service:

  • Mrs Tait wants to give her daughter the present of a lifetime on her wedding day.  What better way than a treasured memory kept alive on film, to grow old with and share with the grandchildren.  Provided with an embossed dvd in a leather bound case, the film will keep the memories alive forever.
  • Jo Black and his band want to get into the big band world but with only a cd to offer they feel like just another entry in the record companies bin.  They want a dvd of their performance.  Ok, the performance is low budget (very low budget), but with the special effects available in our software, we can give them something to really wow with.
  • Miss Mc wants to show the world how to go about getting into poultry keeping, the ins and outs, the rights the wrongs, how to feed correctly for best production, how to look after them for show ring.  How to keep poultry in a low cost, effective way and get the best egg production.  Everyone knows eggs from your own chooks are better than the shop bought ones.  She tells us what she wants, she orders as many copies as she needs (ordering extra copies as necessary) and sells the dvds as part of her business.
  • Charity Cycle Event - the organisers, as part of their fund raising efforts, produce a video of the event with all the highs and lows of the 3 days, the good and bad, the tears and laughter.  The video will also promote cycling and give advice on how to cycle safely and be traffic aware.  The film is offered for sale to raise more money for cancer research.
  • BC hold corporate days for team building. Throughout the day you will enjoy (or endure) paint balling, rafting, rope climbing, tunneling and more. They give the team challenges throughout the day where you have to work together and find solutions to problems as a group. BC supply potential customers with a promotional dvd (supplied by The Rural Film Company) of their services, making themselves more accessible to a larger audience.

Standards?

A high standard of footage is extremely important to us.  Have you ever played your home movie back and felt dizzy?  Is the sound jumpy, does the camera whiz from one place to the other?

Creating good video footage takes great skill, care and training. We have undertaken training with both the BBC and Avid as well as others to ensure that all our filming is of the highest standard.

Cost?

No-one likes to talk about money but it is part of life.  We are unable to put a definitive cost on the website because we base every customer as an individual and the cost is calculated accordingly.

The cost for every customer is based on the individual and their needs and requirements. Similar companies on the market charge variable amounts for a days filming, (which is usually 8 hours), but again, being a small company, we can be flexible with our costs to you. Other companies are charging anywhere from £800 to £5000 per day and with anything over the 8 hours being extra, with this, the final figure can be terrifying. You then often have to pay extra for the editing process and packaging on top. The Rural Film Company keep their overheads low so as to be able to pass on to the customer a very affordable price.

However, we can say from the onset that the figure we have agreed will include, the agreed use of our filming service (regardless of weather), our video editing service (to ensure your final product is a professional film), and 1 copy of the film on dvd (or video if you would prefer).                 

You can order as many copies of the final film as you need, however, this is a seperate service and incurs a seperate charge.  The good news though is, if you order in bulk, you will receive a substantial discount.
